Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in architectural, mechanical or electrical engineering required
  • 0-5 years engineering experience in mechanical/electrical plumbing design
  • Knowledge/experience of AutoCAD, Revit and MEP software strongly preferred
  • E.I.T. preferred
  • Must be able to travel on occasion, anticipated travel less than 10% of the time
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice
  • Ability to work independently and within a team successfully
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects for multiple clients
  • Ability to visit clients and job sites as needed to support project and business development needs
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle on public roads and have acceptable driving records
Responsibilities
  • Develops plans and specifications for mechanical/electrical/plumbing projects
  • Will focus on electrical work such as lighting, building power system and power distribution design work
  • Designs new or renovation projects, performs site investigations and documents existing conditions
  • Interact effectively as part of a team headed by a Project Manager
  • Assist with preparation on engineering analysis, designs and calculations relative to the project assigned and in writing technical engineering and design reports
  • Provides contract administration, construction submittal reviews, Requests for Information, Engineer’s Supplemental Instruction, pay estimates/change orders, and other related activities
  • May perform quality assurance/quality control procedures in the field including field observation and materials testing
  • May assist with proposal preparations and fee development
  • Utilizes AutoCAD and Revit to design and analyze projects
  • Manages engineering work and interfaces with other disciplines as needed
  • Typically handles multiple projects for multiple clients simultaneously
  • Visits clients and job sites as needed to support project(s) and business development needs
  • May provide consultation/guidance to senior technicians/designers for plumbing equipment, HVAC equipment, and electrical equipment selection and layout
  • May serve as consultant on mechanical/electrical/plumbing projects during construction phase
Desired Qualifications
  • E.I.T. preferred
  • Knowledge in HVAC design
  • Knowledge in plumbing and design
  • Knowledge of medium voltage systems
  • Any additional specialized software tools mentioned (Adobe, Bluebeam, Deltek Vision accounting and project planning software, Client Relationship Management software) could be considered desirable
