Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Proficiency in computer software use, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Responsibilities
  • Greet all patients as they arrive and act as a liaison between patients, practice staff, and physicians.
  • Check in patients by obtaining accurate and up-to-date demographic and insurance information at each visit.
  • Work with the billing office to ensure proper entry of patient insurance information.
  • Assist with telephone coverage as needed.
  • Assist with insurance verification for new patients and established patients with new insurance.
  • Collect required patient co-payments and outstanding patient balances.
  • Maintain an accurate cash box, including end-of-day balancing.
  • Assist patients with completing various medical documents.
  • Assist with chart pulls for future visits and ensure requested test results and other medical records have been received.
  • Keep the waiting area clean and neat, including straightening chairs and maintaining current magazines.
  • Keep the front-desk check-in/check-out desk clean and neat.
Desired Qualifications
  • Customer service experience in a healthcare environment, preferably in a surgical practice.
  • Minimum two years of medical office experience, preferably in a surgical practice.

Care combines diagnostics, consultations, and treatments, including radiation therapy, using advanced techniques and technology. The practice is the largest private urology network in the area with over 50 providers across 19 locations and a central radiation center, created by merging several practices.
