AES generates and distributes electricity globally, operating in four main regions: the US and Utilities, South America, MCAC (Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean), and Eurasia. The company has a diverse portfolio that includes thermal, renewable, and energy storage facilities. AES provides electricity to various customers, including residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, primarily in the United States and El Salvador, through long-term contracts that ensure stable revenue. In competitive markets, AES also sells electricity at market prices. A key aspect that sets AES apart from its competitors is its commitment to sustainability, with a goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions from its electricity generation by 2040. To reach this target, AES is investing in renewable energy and energy storage technologies while also enhancing the efficiency of its existing power plants.
