Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required or higher education in engineering, construction management or real estate focused field or equivalent years of experience
  • 10+ years experience of increasing responsibility in industrial, critical redundancy sites, lab and office
  • Robust knowledge of site utilities, due diligence, preconstruction in industrial asset types
  • Experience in a variety of delivery methods (i.e. design build, build to suits, TIs)
  • Working knowledge and familiarity of facility systems such as Mechanical (HVAC) systems, Plumbing and Process systems, emergency power supply (generators), Control Systems and life safety systems
  • Experience on construction projects reviewing drawings and specifications, reviewing RFI's and evaluating contractor change orders
  • Understanding of Electrical Infrastructure, AC/DC power profiles, transformer equipment, mechanical diagrams, and construction drawings
  • Knowledge of electric vehicles and charging methods and infrastructure
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to provide clear recommendations and solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and experience creating business cases for funding approvals
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time!
Responsibilities
  • Innovate and implement processes and tools, ensuring complete cycle from site search through deal execution is completed consistently and predictably at a fast pace
  • Work directly with the Director of Project Delivery in development and future implementation of energy sustainability strategies and goals for Cruise
  • Conduct due diligence on MEP Infrastructure and utility requirements for all real estate transactions
  • Partner with Entitlement Project Delivery Manager and Construction Project Delivery Manager throughout the entitlements and jurisdictional engagement process
  • In partnership with consultants, contribute to initial CapEx costs and schedules for sites. Provide clear, concise and data driven recommendations to aid Real Estate and Operations teams selection of site(s)
  • Coordinate with the Transaction Manager during the site search, acquisition, and due diligence stages to establish the highest and best use for site(s)
  • Review and provide overall direction and recommendations on all proposed electrical layouts/schematics, equipment submittals and electrical drawings for adherence to the highest industry standards
  • As the Team Subject Matter Expert, you will help ensure that documents and designs are in general compliance with Cruise standards and guidelines. You will also review and provide direction on proposed alternatives and value engineering propositions
  • Evaluate power distribution equipment options, share the pros/cons of the options, and offer viable alternatives where applicable
  • Contribute to the development of EH&S Policy and implementation initiatives
  • Represent Cruise in witness testing of electrical systems during commissioning phase, including prefunctional tests, functional tests and integrated systems test
  • Complete work with a bias toward action and continuous improvement. Always searching for opportunities to template processes and establish best practices
  • Establish and develop positive relationships with consultants, representing Cruise in a professional manner
  • Negotiate consultant proposals and approaches. Review and approve consultant billings
  • Proactively and curiously seek out opportunities to reduce costs or shorten timelines
