Requirements
  • 4+ years backend or infrastructure experience for Engineer, 6+ years for Senior Engineer, or 8+ years for Staff Engineer.
  • Strong systems fundamentals including distributed systems, databases, APIs, and concurrency.
  • Proven production experience including debugging live systems, incident response, and on-call responsibilities.
  • PostgreSQL expertise including query optimization, indexing, schema design, and migrations.
  • Ownership mindset including closing the loop, writing postmortems, and preventing recurrence.
Responsibilities
  • Build APIs and services handling thousands of concurrent requests.
  • Architect ingestion to assessment to delivery pipelines for cases.
  • Implement Temporal workflows for long-running, stateful processes.
  • Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas and queries for compliance workflows.
  • Own continuous integration and deployment processes, infrastructure-as-code, and drive observability through logging, tracing, and metrics.
  • Debug slow queries, memory leaks, and race conditions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Fintech or regulatory technology experience including security and audit logging.
  • Experience with AI or large language model infrastructure including prompt orchestration, token limits, and cost management.
  • Experience with high-throughput systems and chaos/resilience testing.
  • Knowledge of Virtual Private Cloud architecture and cloud networking including security groups, private endpoints, and compliance requirements.
  • Temporal workflows experience is preferred (if not already listed as required) or similar workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, Cadence).
  • Experience with Temporal is preferred.
  • Strong experience with cloud providers AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure; familiarity with Render.com on AWS.
