Requirements
  • Current Kansas Emergency Medical Technician license or Kansas Paramedic license.
  • Current EMS certification.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Yearly tuberculosis testing and other immunizations or physical examinations required by clinical sites, obtained at the employee's expense.
  • Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and administrative processes affecting local, regional, and state pre-hospital emergency medical services systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of the proper safety and handling of materials used in the field.
  • Availability for required course assignments.
  • Ability to work with students, technical personnel, and administrative personnel in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
  • Submit all scholastic records by the established due date.
  • Evaluate students to measure their progress toward achieving course outcomes and competencies.
  • Manage and supervise students in assigned classroom and laboratory activities to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Maintain industry credentials as appropriate to the teaching area.
  • Ensure that each program or class meets the WSU Tech Course Standard, includes appropriate curricular components, uses effective teaching methods and practices, and reflects current field practices.
  • Maintain an effective learning environment in online, hybrid, and face-to-face instructional modalities.
  • Demonstrate laboratory skills consistently with lesson objectives.
  • Engage with appropriate staff members, including Success Coaches and Disability Services, to assist with student success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director or Dean of Health Sciences.
Desired Qualifications
  • Three years of work experience in industry.
  • Previous teaching or training experience in adult education.
