CodePath is a national non-profit that is reprogramming higher education to create the most diverse generation of software engineers, CTOs, and founders. We deliver industry-vetted courses and career support centered on the needs of Black, Latino/a, Indigenous, and low-income students. Our students train with senior engineers, intern at top companies, and rise together to become the tech leaders of tomorrow. As of 2023, we’ve served 10,000 students a year nationwide, and we plan to scale up to ~100,000 students a year by 2028.
Founded in 2017, CodePath has taught over 26,000 students and delivered courses across over 110 universities. About the Role

Compensation: $250,000 to $350,000 per year
The Chief Learning Officer (CLO) will spearhead our Programs, Curriculum, and Career Center team in revolutionizing higher education computer science education, partnering with the founders to lead the entire organization in increasing graduation rates and enabling successful tech careers for underserved students. The CLO will be the ultimate owner of our students’ end-to-end experience. Joining a team that currently serves 10,000 students annually, the CLO will be responsible for ensuring our continued impact, developing new, innovative ways to improve our programs, scaling our reach to 100,000 students annually, and delivering a student experience that is 100x better.
Our ideal candidate possesses a first-principles understanding of training college students to become top-tier software engineers. This position is perfect for someone with a strong background in both software engineering and teaching, and who is deeply connected to the industry. Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Planning

Architect a strategic roadmap in collaboration with the CEO, and senior directors to drive initiatives and experiments that increase program capacity, quality, impact, and student experience.

Directly manage the Programs while supporting the directors in managing and directing their teams for effective program development and delivery.

Act as a strategic advisor for student technical readiness, pedagogy, curriculum, and career center services.
Experimentation / Innovation

Drive experimentation to improve the student experience, impact, consistency, and scalability of our programs.

Collaborate with the product engineering team on our product roadmap to enable greater scale, enhance personalization, and improve the overall student experience.

Supervise rigorous, publishable quasi-experimental studies with an external research partner to quantify our influence on student success and university outcomes.

Regularly assess instruction quality and curriculum effectiveness by shadowing and observing classrooms.
External Collaboration and Thought Leadership

Represent the organization in external events, conferences, and forums.

Partner with the Marketing team to produce insightful thought leadership content that showcases our mission, goals, and achievements.

Cultivate and maintain relationships with industry leaders, stakeholders, and funders.
