Requirements
- Deliver instruction to mixed-experience military populations in classroom, laboratory, and field environments while maintaining required instructor-to-student ratios.
- Assess students' critical-thinking and psychomotor skills under high-fidelity simulated conditions.
- Maintain current required medical certifications throughout the contract, including National Registry Emergency Medical Technician certification at the EMT level or higher and Basic Life Support certification.
- Meet one of the required military or medical background qualifications: former 68W or 18D Noncommissioned Officer and Advanced Leader Course graduate; former Navy Enlisted Classification 8404 or Navy Independent Duty Corpsman at E-6 or above; former Air Force 4NOX1 or Aerospace Medical Service at E-6 or above; or currently licensed Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Physician.
- Review documents, maintain electronic files, and manage spreadsheets, tracking logs, suspense actions, and similar records.
- Use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and standard office equipment.
- Manage multiple records and deadlines and communicate professionally with military, civilian, medical, recruiting, and contractor personnel.
- Learn Government information systems and Army applicant-processing procedures.
- Read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Resolve administrative and minor performance issues and ensure timely completion of reports, rosters, and deliverables.
- Oversee adherence to training standards, security protocols, and classroom requirements.
- Stand, walk, and move throughout training environments for extended periods of 8 or more hours; lift and carry medical training equipment up to 50 pounds; kneel, crouch, and work at ground level; work outdoors in varying weather conditions; and apply moulage while operating patient simulators.
- Complete required antiterrorism awareness, iWatch, Operations Security, cybersecurity, Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention, and other onboarding and compliance training.
- Complete and certify in accordance with TC 8-800 within 30 days of starting.
- Be eligible for and obtain a Common Access Card requiring a minimum Tier 1 investigation.
- Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and remain subject to random drug screens.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Tactical Combat Casualty Care training across all four tiers: All Service Members, Combat Lifesaver, Combat Medic, and Combat Paramedic.
- Instruct 68W Combat Medic sustainment training and Combat Lifesaver initial and sustainment training to non-medical personnel.
- Conduct training in classroom, laboratory, and field training and evaluation environments.
- Instruct mixed populations of Soldiers in class sizes directed by the medical proponent.
- Utilize approved scenario-based training according to course Training Circulars or as approved by the medical proponent.
- Apply moulage techniques, environmental control, and theatrical special effects to simulate realistic injuries and environments.
- Assess students using grading sheets for individual scenarios.
- Ensure all training content is approved by the appropriate medical proponent.
- Operate Medical Simulation Training Center systems, including ISS, VPS, and MT-C2.
- Configure and execute realistic training scenarios and apply moulage and simulation effects.
- Contribute to Monthly Staffing Report data as required.
- Document and report accidents and incidents.
- Maintain training records, student evaluations, and After-Action Review documentation.
- Operate and perform operator-level preventive maintenance on assigned patient simulators, manikins, and medical training equipment.
- Follow original equipment manufacturer instructions for handling equipment requiring extended service agreement repair.
- Inventory and manage consumable items, including skins, synthetic blood, and preventive-maintenance kits, and notify the Contracting Officer's Representative when consumables are required.
- Initiate fielded equipment repair and condition-status reports and keep the Technical Operations Representative and Assistant Program Manager or Contracting Officer's Representative apprised of equipment issues.
- Notify the Warfighter Training Readiness System maintainer through the authorized channel for equipment failures outside extended service agreement coverage.
- Participate in Quality Control Plan activities, including peer observations, self-assessments, and After-Action Reviews.
- Complete annual TC 8-800 recertification for all tables.
- Participate in enterprise quality initiatives, including instructor development programs and cross-site standardization.
- Work Monday through Friday from 0800 to 1700 local time, with overtime, weekend, and extended hours during surge operations as directed by the Government.
- Provide occasional cross-site support, surge operations, training-conference support, or Medical Simulation Training Center Exchange Program support, including possible out-of-area and overnight travel.
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced Life Support certification.
- Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
- Tactical Combat Casualty Care provider or instructor certification.
- Experience with medical simulation Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations, including SimMan 3G, MTC2, or Cut Suit.
- Prior Medical Simulation Training Center or medical simulation training center experience.
- Experience with moulage techniques and theatrical special effects for high-fidelity scenarios.
- Familiarity with TC 8-800 tables and Deployed Medicine curriculum.
- Experience delivering emergency medical, tactical trauma, or combat casualty care training.
- Experience with Medical Simulation Training Center operations, high-fidelity medical simulation, 68W sustainment training, equipment maintenance, and training documentation.
