Requirements
  • You have 5-10 years of experience in technical business development, solutions engineering, management consulting, or solutions consulting in B2B enterprise software.
  • You have sold complex platforms to sophisticated enterprise buyers.
  • You have opened at least one new industry or segment from scratch rather than inheriting a book of business.
  • You have worked at companies with fewer than 50 people, or operated in a comparable early-stage environment.
  • You can hold credible conversations about model architectures, data pipelines, and system integrations with technical buyers.
  • You can produce concise pitch decks and cold emails with minimal oversight.
  • You can synthesize findings into executive-ready, storyline-driven presentations.
  • You can determine when analysis is sufficient to act without over-engineering before testing in the market.
Responsibilities
  • Identify and prioritize new vertical markets based on platform fit, buyer readiness, and deal economics.
  • Build outbound pipeline from zero through cold outreach, network activation, conference presence, and creative market-entry approaches.
  • Run full-cycle discovery and qualification with enterprise buyers and own deals from first contact through close.
  • Develop initial “Why Distyl” positioning tailored to each vertical’s pain points and competitive landscape.
  • Build quantitative models covering market sizing, unit economics, and pricing sensitivity to inform vertical prioritization and deal structuring.
  • Map the platform’s capabilities to vertical-specific workflows and buyer needs.
  • Partner with engineering and product to scope initial deployments and design partner engagements.
  • Build and deliver technical demonstrations, proof-of-concept proposals, and return-on-investment frameworks customized for each buyer.
  • Translate complex artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities into concrete business value for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Design and lead structured discovery workshops with enterprise buyers to identify pain points, decision criteria, and willingness to pay.
  • Synthesize prospect-conversation learnings into vertical strategy.
  • Conduct competitive analysis of sellers targeting the same buyers, including their pitches and areas of competitive advantage.
  • Feed market insights back to product and leadership to shape the roadmap and go-to-market priorities.
  • Identify repeatable patterns that can scale from one customer to many within a vertical.
  • Structure ambiguous go-to-market problems into testable hypotheses, prioritize high-leverage workstreams, and drive them to resolution with data.
  • Align product, engineering, and leadership stakeholders around go-to-market priorities and resource allocation for new verticals.
  • Create initial pitch decks, one-pagers, battle cards, and objection-handling guides for assigned verticals.
  • Develop segment-specific case studies and proof points as early customers are closed.
  • Build demo talk tracks and narrative frameworks that can later be handed to a broader go-to-market team.
