- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- A valid and current Clinical Laboratory Scientist license issued by the State of California Department of Health Services
- Must be able to converse well in English because of physician, nurse, and patient contact

- Supervises and assists in monitoring the efficiency of general clinical laboratory and pathology operations
- Oversees the day-to-day operation
- Orientation/in-service-training-motivation-performance evaluation and management of staff
- Organizing and delineating all duties and responsibilities of all clinical testing including POC
- Quality management, workflow and processes, problem solving, equipment maintenance
- Inter-hospital relationships with the laboratory
- TAT evaluation, proficiency testing review, and various other projects that are assigned
- A master’s degree is a plus but not required
- ASCP certification is preferred, but not required
- At least 6 years of experience as a lead/supervisor CLS preferred
