Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector focused on manufacturing or assemblies is required.
  • A strong understanding of the National Electric Code is required for candidates assigned to the Electrical Enclosure area.
  • A strong understanding of quality control principles and standards is required.
  • Good math and technical skills are required.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is required.
  • The ability to read a tape measure is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • The candidate must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
  • The candidate must pass a background check.
  • The candidate must be able to perform the physical activities required by the position, including standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, turning, twisting, bending, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
  • The candidate must be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 to 75 pounds.
  • The candidate must be able to work outdoors in changing temperature and weather conditions and be exposed to dust, mud, paint thinner, and paint fumes.
Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to understand product requirements.
  • Verify that products meet engineering drawing and Standard Operating Procedure requirements using tape measures, pressure gauges, torque wrenches, and other required methods.
  • Document inspections and testing on the appropriate forms.
  • Photograph accepted product and component conditions and save the photographs to the appropriate files.
  • Upload inspection and testing documents to files.
  • Assist Production in ensuring quality is built into the product without interfering with the production process.
  • Assist in resolving quality-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Support the Quality Lead, Quality Engineer, and Quality Manager with daily tasks and projects.
  • Communicate with Production and Engineering as necessary to resolve quality issues.
  • Confirm that corrections have been made when a non-compliant document is presented.
  • Gather and maintain an understanding of one or more assigned Enclosure areas, including Pre-Fabrication, Enclosure Assembly and Roofs, Doors and Sub-assembly, Painting, Final Assembly, and Electrical.
  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Quality Control Lead, Engineer, Manager, or supervisor.
