Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline AND 2 years of engineering experience, OR Master's degree in STEM for Responsible/Analysis Engineer
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline AND 5 years of engineering experience, OR Master’s degree AND 3 years of engineering experience for Principal Responsible/Analysis Engineer
  • Ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance
  • Professional experience related to the development and integration of fire protection subsystems or components
Responsibilities
  • Performing responsible engineer activities, which include all aspects of fire protection system/component design and development including trade studies, layouts, architecture definition, system test & verification, and troubleshooting
  • Performing system related analysis, such as performance simulation, in support of the development of the fire protection subsystem including integration with other aircraft subsystems
  • System level test planning, execution support, verification, data processing, and troubleshooting
  • System level evaluations to verify requirements and ensure airworthiness criteria are met
  • Attending internal program, customer, and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with focus on thermodynamic, fluid mechanic and/or heat transfer disciplines
  • Experience with aircraft subsystem development, with requirements definition, specification development, component analysis, procurement, source selection, integration and test and verification for advance aircraft
  • Experience performing thermodynamic, fluid mechanic and/or heat transfer analysis related to military/commercial aircraft and subsystems
  • Experience modeling fluid systems utilizing Amesim, MATLAB/Simulink, Thermal Desktop, Flomaster, and/or STAR-CCM+ software
  • Experience with the military airworthiness certification process using MIL-HDBK-516
  • Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures
  • Experience in supporting pursuits and proposals, including generating, reviewing, and approving technical proposals and BOEs
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership related to integrated product teams, including supplier and customer (internal and external) relations
