  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience as an IT engineer, specializing in the analysis of hardware systems for IT solutions.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution is required. However, relevant experience may be substituted for the degree. Specifically, five (5) additional years of hardware engineering and testing experience can replace the need for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are essential, as the role involves coordinating with team members from project management, security, asset management, customer service, or help desk departments to solve problems and manage projects.
Responsibilities
  • Provide senior level Information Technology (IT) hardware engineering analysis and support, focusing on the desktop computing architecture for user devices, system configuration, testing, and integration.
  • Includes both preventative and maintenance, deploying and installing hardware, and analyzing ticketing trends to propose solutions.
  • Involves working with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Value-Added Resellers (VARs), preparing hardware specifications based on system requirements, and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Preparing engineering plans, technical design packages, functional and performance test plans, site installation, and test reports based on document requirements.
  • Developing standardized configurations and field troubleshooting methods for end user computing devices and peripheral equipment.
  • Assisting in the preparation of status reports, organizing desktop engineering efforts, providing leadership to junior engineers and systems administrators, and occasionally acting as the End User Services Manager.
  • Developing technology insertion plans to introduce new technologies and coordinating service improvement activities across people, processes, and technologies.
