Requirements
  • Experience with performance management and talent processes, including calibrations, promotions, job leveling, and pay-for-performance processes.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and follow-through skills, including experience managing recurring processes with multiple collaborators, deadlines, dependencies, and sensitive information.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • High discretion, trustworthiness, and integrity, with outstanding attention to detail and a zero-defect approach to sensitive employee and performance data.
  • Established interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear documents for employees and managers.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support performance management routines, including goal-setting and development-plan frameworks and in-year and year-end performance review processes.
  • Manage feedback collection efforts, including twice-yearly feedback sessions, training, reporting, and follow-up with HR partners and business leaders.
  • Support calibration and promotion processes through process planning, meeting preparation, data validation, analytics, documentation, follow-up actions, and alignment with pay-for-performance governance and job leveling.
  • Collaborate with Learning and Human Resources Business Partners to assist with manager optimization and performance and development training.
  • Improve performance processes for clarity, scalability, efficiency, and user experience, including through HR technology, automation, improved analytics, and artificial-intelligence-enabled tools where appropriate.
  • Partner with Compensation on year-end pay-for-performance activities, including performance and promotion data preparation, manager and Human Resources Business Partner support, validation, reporting, and process coordination.
  • Translate performance outcomes into clear, well-governed inputs for pay decisions, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and defensibility across processes.
  • Support special projects, including engagement survey routines and change initiatives related to performance management, skills building, and talent strategies.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Workday, Power BI, survey tools, or performance management platforms.
  • Interest in scalable reporting solutions, process refinement, and practical implementation of HR technology.
  • Six or more years of experience in performance or talent management, or a similar Human Resources position.

UC Investments sells $1bn private equity portfolio to HarbourVest. * August 19, 2026 * - 9:28 am The University of California's investment office has sold around $1bn of private equity interests to secondaries specialist HarbourVest Partners, providing another sizeable transaction for a market that has seen discounts widen amid renewed pressure on private assets, according to a report by Bloomberg. The report cites unnamed people familiar with the matter as reeling that UC Investments, which oversees roughly $190bn across retirement, endowment and cash portfolios, began the sale process earlier this year. The portfolio changed hands at a discount of more than 10% and includes interests in software and other technology-focused buyout funds, the people said. Campbell Lutyens advised UC Investments on the transaction. UC Investments' latest annual report showed that its private assets had a market value of approximately $39bn as of mid-2025. Private equity accounted for slightly more than half of that exposure.
