We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, hands-on individual to join our team as Ligthing Support / Design Engineer. In this job, you’ll be in a highly technical role that requires independently managing small to large size projects in a technical operational environment. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to independently problem solve and meet client needs. You will be internal and external customer focused, which will require you to prioritize multiple projects in order to balance workload. A successful candidate must be eager to take a hands-on role in a fast paced, leading energy management company and want to be accountable for delivering results.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide support through the creation of lighting calculation, layouts and technical solutions to meet project specific requirements, interior and exterior
• Determining the best project solutions of fixture types, lumen packages and placement to ensure customer satisfaction
• Understand and interpret construction documents including site plans, floor plans, details, sections, and schedules
• Have general understanding of IES standards and guidelines of foot-candle level recommendations
• Perform point-by-point lighting calculations to determine best fit for LED fixture / light replacement
• Perform project based utility level incentive calculations and work with internal Incentive Team to ensure proper submittal / approval
• Work with Procurement Team in the selection and standardization of LED luminaires
• Providing guidance and instruction to internal and external customers

• Independently manages multiple projects of varying size and complexity
• Offers remote technical support to vendors/contractors and internal personel

• Communicating daily and directly with internal customers to coordinate the successful completion of lighting layouts
• Other job-related duties may be assigned

Desired Characteristics:

• Broad understanding of lioghting projects and operational policies, procedures, and practices
• Must possess highly developed interpersonal, analytical, oral and writing communication skills
• Creative problem solver with the ability to multi-task and provide excellent customer service

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Interior Design or related field
• At least 4 years of lighting design experience
• A strong background and interest in architectural design, specifically lighting
• Proven experience managing multiple projects (value between $50,000 - $250,000) concurrently with complex inter-dependencies.
• Experience in the Energy space helpful but not required
• Excellent problem solving and customer service skills
• Extensive organizational and time-management skills to be able to meet aggressive deadlines

• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office required
