Assist senior design engineers with multiple tasks involving the mechanical engineering job functions.
YOUR IMPACT
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
Work with global engineering resources to prepare/revise/review vehicle component layouts using CAD (i.e. Creo Parametric)
Design, model and test new mechanical systems that integrate with an overall new product development machine design
Generate engineering calculations of weight distribution, stress analysis, performance estimations, etc.
Update bill of materials in the PDM (Product Data Management) system to reflect product changes.
Research and execute on continuous improvement request (CIR’s) to support manufacturing, supply chain, and customer feedback/operations
Create and manage ECN’s (Engineering Change Notices) using the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system.
Follow project on the assembly floor for prototype, pilot, or production build and provide technical assistance.
Consult with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to find solutions to problems
Perform or assist in the testing of complete vehicles or vehicle components.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering field.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
Good oral and written communication skills.
Previous internship experience or work-related experience.
Previous experience or heightened interest in mechanical design.
Experience in extracurricular activities outside academic requirements (SAE teams, etc..)
Experience using Creo Parametric, Pro-E, CATIA or a similar CAD system is a plus.
Understanding of basic steel and sheet metal fabrication principles
Knowledge of construction industry and equipment used.
Strong mechanical aptitude

Pay Range:
$18.00 - $37.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate’s experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
