Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Therapy from an accredited university is required.
- A current and active Physical Therapy license in Washington is required.
- At least one year of experience as a Physical Therapist is required; new graduates will also be considered.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification is required.
- Completion of 7 hours of AIDS education or training as required by Washington State is required.
- Suicide Prevention training certification or documentation of training completion is required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients referred for physical therapy, assess their physical condition, and develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical judgment and evidence-based practices.
- Administer physical therapy interventions, including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities, to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Supervise and provide guidance to Physical Therapy Assistants or Athletic Trainers, ensuring proper technique, adherence to treatment protocols, and patient safety.
- Communicate with referring providers, including physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive patient care and alignment with treatment goals.
- Maintain communication with hospital, outpatient, or long-term care facility staff regarding patient status and care coordination.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, injury prevention, symptom-management strategies, adaptive techniques, assistive devices, and lifestyle modifications.
- Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and industry standards for patient care, safety, and confidentiality.
- Ensure compliance with relevant state and federal regulations, including healthcare billing and patient documentation requirements.
- Engage in continuing education and stay current with research, treatment techniques, and industry best practices.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives as needed.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with patients in outpatient, acute care, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of electronic medical record systems is preferred.
