Our challenge
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Financial Business Analyst (FI BA) with a strong focus on Fixed Income (FI) products, specifically in the Bonds space. This role will be part of our Canada team and will involve working closely with stakeholders to analyze financial data, provide insights, and support product development in the FI domain. The ideal candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in FI Bonds, leveraging their expertise to influence business decisions and enhance financial strategies.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga, ON is CAD $120k - $125k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Fixed Income Bonds, providing guidance and insights on market trends, product features, and regulatory requirements.
Analyze and interpret financial data related to Fixed Income products, specifically Bonds, to support strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with product management, risk management, and other teams to ensure alignment of FI product strategies with overall business objectives.
Develop comprehensive financial models and forecasts to assess product performance and viability in the market.
Prepare and present detailed reports and dashboards that communicate key findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Conduct market research to identify opportunities and threats within the FI Bonds space.
Facilitate workshops and discussions with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable business solutions.
Support the implementation of new FI products and enhancements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Provide training and support to team members regarding Fixed Income products and market dynamics.
Requirements:
You are:
Proven experience as a Business Analyst with a strong focus on Financial Products, particularly in the Fixed Income and Bonds space.
Deep understanding of Fixed Income products, market structures, and trading practices.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.
Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg, Tableau).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Finance) or relevant certifications (CFA, CPA) preferred.
It would be great if you also had:
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks affecting Fixed Income markets (e.g., Basel III, Dodd-Frank).
Experience working in Agile project management environments.
Knowledge of trading systems and platforms related to Fixed Income products.
