JOB SUMMARY
Cresco Labs is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join our Supply Chain team. The Purchasing Specialist will place purchase orders and work closely with our suppliers, COE, and warehouse team to maintain optimal inventory levels and support production continuity. The purchasing coordinator is responsible for identifying best-cost solutions for direct and indirect purchasing needs and collaborating cross-functionally, when necessary, to facilitate material replenishment.
CORE JOB DUTIES
- Create and issue purchase EOQs (economic order quantities), ensuring accurate pricing and accountable for on time delivery
- Collaborate with warehouse and Master Scheduler to proactively identify supply shortages, realigning the replenishment schedule as needed. Accountable for the revenue to the pack-out plan
- Actively seek out and identify cost-out opportunities, presenting recommendations to management
- Research and resolve product and/or receiving discrepancies partner with vendors on solutions to prevent future discrepancies
- Develop and implement an efficient and accurate system to monitor open purchase orders
- Own and analyze cycle count data to maintain accuracy levels at 80%
- Expedite past-due purchase orders and communicate delivery schedules to the team
- Identify optimal inventory levels leveraging WMS, vendor replenishment strategy, lead times for decision making
- Provide COE with quarterly vendor performance (i.e. quality, late orders, shortages, etc)
- Planning space in warehouses using ABC sku classification
- Inventory and planning for all raw ingredients
- Other duties to support production as assigned
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS
- 3-5 years of purchasing experience (manufacturing background preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel and Word
- Associates Degree (preferred)
- High level of organizational skill
- Deadline driven and detail oriented
- Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all company departments and employees
