Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in risk management & insurance, Real Estate or Finance preferred, or equivalent combination of education experience.
  • Current Florida 2-20 (Property and Casualty Insurance License) or willingness to obtain within the first 90 days.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a commercial insurance agency or brokerage environment. P&C experience is a plus.
  • Moderate to advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.
  • Knowledge of general database / client management software required along with a willingness and ability to learn new software programs including Adobe InDesign, Power BI etc. as needed is required.
  • Possess skills necessary to communicate with producers, carriers and clients concerning commercial lines of coverage.
  • Maintain a priority for accuracy, timeliness and completion while demonstrating strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • A driven, disciplined, resilient, achievement-focused, coachable professional.
  • Highly proficient in all Microsoft office products including Excel, Publisher, Power BI, Word, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities
  • Strategize with team regarding the appropriate marketing approach for an account and evaluate insurance coverage available in the marketplace to recommend options for existing accounts and new business.
  • Negotiate with underwriters and brokers toward deadlines, set expectations with them, persuade to offer desired terms & conditions.
  • Analyze portfolio loss histories, identify frequency trends and presents recommendations for risk management solutions to client. Understanding the risks and exposures associated with various clients real estate portfolios.
  • Discusses exposures with clients to create insurance Statements of Value (SOV) to capture client’s locations and property exposures for client’s approval and submission to carriers.
  • Creates client summary packages, marketing materials, proposals, etc. for agents utilizing Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Office Products, and AMS.
  • Evaluates client’s exposures and will create premium estimates for client’s potential commercial real estate acquisitions.
  • Review lender/investor insurance requirements to ensure compliance and negotiate them as needed.
  • Stays current on the latest Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac insurance requirements to be able to review contracts and secure proper coverage, negotiate terms with carrier and properly executive evidence of insurance for clients.
  • Generates and analyzes Marshall & Swift valuations utilizing Marshall & Swift online software and respond to lender’s questions concerning the valuations and negotiate changes in values with lender and carrier.
  • Adheres to Franklin Street’s Insurance best practices and procedures.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, sales staff and insurance company partners.
  • Utilize our web-based Agency Management System.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • An active Florida 2-20 commercial insurance license is preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree in risk management or other applicable areas of concentration is strongly preferred.
