- A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or equivalent curriculum is required.
- New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York State Education Department is required.
- Conduct routine and complex tests on clinical specimens.
- Perform automated and manual tests in Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Microbiology following established procedures and without immediate supervision.
- Work in an assigned laboratory section or rotate through all laboratory sections.
- Perform in-charge responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor when meeting New York State Department of Health supervisory criteria.
- Obtain and receive laboratory specimens, including blood, urine, and body fluids.
- Perform and interpret clinical laboratory tests used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
- ASCP certification.
- Two to three years of experience.
