Position Overview

The Healthcare Technologies team builds native platform solutions that enable healthcare-specific platform capabilities. This development role in the Database Platforms department will contribute to the InterSystems IRIS for Health and InterSystems Health Connect products.

The Healthcare Technologies team needs an experienced full-stack developer who can architect and maintain Angular applications for users of the FHIR server and FHIR repository including interface engineers, data analysts and system administrators. These net new or immature applications are a critical part of our strategy to compete in the modern healthcare industry.

This position is in the InterSystems headquarters in Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities

This developer will design technical solutions in collaboration with a small team of developers and UX designers according to product requirements defined by a product manager. They will be responsible for implementing product changes as well as automated tests when appropriate. All work must follow the team’s development workflow including use of source control, code reviews and clear documentation. This developer will be responsible for the quality of their code.

As an architect, the candidate will be expected to mentor junior developers. They will also be expected to regularly communicate with the Data Platforms Developer Tools team and with fellow contributors to the UI framework shared across the company. 

They may also occasionally be required to clearly communicate with the release engineering team that is responsible for continuous integration infrastructure as well as product packaging and distribution.

The technology stack includes Angular, TypeScript, ObjectScript and InterSystems IRIS.

Position Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Angular or other web frameworks
• Experience developing REST APIs
• Able to clearly communicate strategy and designs to executives and peers
• Self-driven and confident in their skills
• Motivated by excellence and constant improvement 
• College degree in a technical field like computer engineering or computer science 
• Graduate degree with 3+ years of professional experience or undergrad degree with 5+ years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional experience building secure web services with OAuth 2.0
• Professional experience with micro-service architecture 
• Professional experience with health messaging standards like FHIR
• Professional experience with ObjectScript or an object-oriented programming language
• Professional experience with healthcare IT interface engineering
