Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent education and/or relevant work experience is required.
  • Nine years of progressive work experience is required.
  • Four years of management experience is required.

Responsibilities
  • Review reconciliations of operating cash, investment accounts, restricted cash, and net position, and ensure investment rollforwards and workpapers are updated monthly.
  • Monitor restricted cash classification and associated spending between capital projects and major programs.
  • Ensure prepaid balances are current and amortized monthly, including regular review of insurance and MIP balances and recalculation of enterprise resource planning-generated balances.
  • Reconcile inventory balances monthly, coordinate with Supply Chain, investigate fluctuations between perpetual and periodic inventories, and partner with Pharmacy on quarterly cycle counts.
  • Coordinate year-end inventory counts across Accounting, Supply Chain, and Pharmacy and reconcile count results to the general ledger.
  • Analyze and review patient accounts receivable for MUHA and affiliated companies, including unapplied cash, pharmacy, and value-based care.
  • Review accounts receivable modules, analyze revenue variances and fluctuations, justify monthly cash-to-net balances, and assess the quality of outstanding accounts receivable.
  • Review payor behavior changes, denials, non-covered charges, fluctuations in the value of services in accounts receivable, and Pharmacy accounts receivable and revenues for each market.
  • Communicate accounts receivable findings effectively to leadership.
  • Record and review non-patient accounts receivable monthly, including grants activity.
  • Communicate with other departments to minimize material adjustments and address aged items promptly.
  • Work with the Grants Team and University to reconcile sub-awards and supporting documents for the annual Single Audit.
  • Review consolidated and market-level cash flow statements monthly.
  • Collaborate with Reporting and Capital teams regarding month-to-month balance changes.
  • Summarize and organize workpapers on a consolidated basis and by market or facility as needed.
  • Support and tick-mark balances and transaction-level detail with appropriate documentation.
