- A Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, biomedical engineering or related field with a minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience is required
- A focus in the areas of applied immunology, stem cell technology, and/or blood cell biology is critical for this role
- Defining and executing experiments including diagnostic tests and functional cell analysis to support application development for the clinical immune monitoring and clinical research space
- Assay development to support internal product performance evaluations as well as technical support for customer application development
- Participation in white paper efforts for verification of existing and future value propositions associated with CPTTM technology
- Actively participates in Technology Sensing activities, including trade associations or professional societies
- Performs research in areas of functional cell analysis such as cell growth, metabolic activity, and cell signalling
- He/she will be expected to apply existing knowledge of cell-based assays for the purpose of developing new specimen collection and preservation devices
- Submits patent applications and Invention Disclosure Records (IDRs)
- Incumbent performs technology feasibility assessments for new technology concepts
- Provides general laboratory support including SOP development and maintenance for laboratory instrumentation
- Expected to acquire proficiency in the areas of hematology, coagulation, diagnostic chemistry, and molecular diagnostics
- Prepare verbal and written technical reports, summaries and quantitative analyses of assigned projects
- Tabulate and analyze data using statistical and other software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel
- Prepare protocols for complex experiments to investigate new technology concepts using a variety of experimental approaches including novel application of automated clinical assays and newly developed cell-based assays
- Works under minimal direction toward established long-range goals and objectives
