Network Engineer 3

Job Description

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. The equivalent in related work experience and self study may be substituted. JNTCP/CCNA/CCNP preferred

Experience:
• 3 to 6 years of direct experience in the design, testing, and implementation of IP router based high-speed technology in an ISP or equivalent environment.
• Extensive experience with IP routing and related technologies required (TCP/IP, RIP, OSPF, BGP, ISIS, IPv6, CIDR, UDP, TFTP, DHCP, NAT/PAT,DNS, DOCSIS)
• Working knowledge of OSI model required
• Specific knowledge of Cisco routers, especially the IOS-XR based required
• Specific knowledge of Juniper routers and the JUNOS operating system required
• Specific knowledge of layer 2 switching required
• Experience with Metro Ethernet and MPLS services preferred
• Experience with TDM/Cellular Backhaul services preferred
• Knowledge of DOCSIS and related services preferred
• Experience with multicast (PIM, IGMP) a plus
• Broad knowledge of CMTS's a plus
• Creative, self-motivated team player willing to participate in developing cutting-edge solutions
• Clear and effective verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries
• Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects.


Position Comments:
- IP routing is a must
-Cisco- IOS-XR is a must
-someone with Cisco and Juniper would be a leading candidate.
-30 minute phone screen
-2nd interview is a panel.
