Beta Engineering is currently searching for an Electrical Engineering Technician (EET) to join our team. Electrical Engineering Technicians (EET) assist project engineers with layout and design of high voltage substations, switchyards, power quality projects, transmission lines and other high voltage production and distribution projects. EETs generate and review internal project drawings, one-line drawings, three-line drawings, AC/DC schematics and wiring diagrams. In addition, EETs will generate required calculations and cable schedule documents. EETs work as part of a project team to complete these tasks in accordance with the project requirements and schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Generates new and makes corrections to existing one-lines, panel elevations, AC\DC\Communication schematics, relay panel wiring diagrams and equipment wiring diagrams
Makes other changes and corrections to drawings as instructed
Performs batch plotting of project drawings in preparation for delivery to customer
Performs various calculations for cabling, battery sizing, lighting design, AC load and ground grid
Generates cable scheduling
Demonstrates integrity and ethics in all client relationships and communications.
Recognizes and recommend methods to improve every customer’s experience.

Performs quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
Interacts professionally with other employees and customers.
Works effectively as a team contributor on all assigned projects.
Communicates regularly with supervisor regarding designs, concerns, studies or tests
Desire to participate in continued education and training
Occasional overnight travel to active job sites
Must have clean driving record as use of company vehicles is a requirement of position
Maintains highlighted check prints of all work they perform
Adhere to and practice the Beta core competencies and Beta principle
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Vocational or technical certification as an Electrical Engineering Technician or an Associate Degree is the minimum requirement. Bachelor’s Degree as an Electrical Engineering Technician is preferred.
Strong background in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
Knowledge of all or some of the following applications are preferred: AutoCAD, Microstation, CDEGS grounding software, AcSELerator Quickset, Enervista, CYMCAP, SKM, LitePro
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Will work in an office environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, and other environmental hazards.
Overnight travel is required to an active construction site for a period of one or two weeks at a time. Ability to perform duties safely and to adhere to each job site’s safety requirements; while working on an active job site, outdoors, is a requirement.
