Requirements
  • Knowledge of clubhouse operations, golf instructional programs, merchandising operations, food and beverage operations including alcoholic beverage sales and service, golf tournament operations, golf cart operations including routine maintenance and service schedules, and golf rules, regulations, and etiquette.
  • Three years of experience in clubhouse operations, including pro shop operations, food and beverage operations, and maintaining a fleet of electric golf carts.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid Texas Class C operator's license.
  • Completion of Level 1 or higher in the PGA Professional Golf Management Program.
  • Ability to obtain Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission Seller/Server certification within three days of hire.
  • Ability to obtain a Food Handler's certificate within seven days of hire.
  • Ability to perform physical activities including seeing, carrying, kneeling, twisting, standing, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, window cleaning, and dusting.
  • Ability to operate a motorized vehicle and equipment including a telephone, calculator, and personal computer.
  • Ability to lift or exert up to 45 pounds and push or pull 25 pounds for 40 feet.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, motor vehicle review, drug and alcohol tests, and physical and human performance evaluation.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the day-to-day operations and management of an 18-hole golf course.
  • Handle sales and cash, operate the point-of-sale system, record green fees and other sales, make daily deposits, manage the electronic tee sheet, inventory, memberships, and discount programs.
  • Receive and modify tee sheets for tournament bookings, coordinate and record tee-time reservations, and monitor play to maintain smooth pace of play.
  • Assist with instructional programs and golf lessons.
  • Facilitate tournament operations by preparing player lists, hole assignments, cart signs, tournament scorecards, and scoreboards, and provide scoring at event conclusion.
  • Coordinate with the Food and Beverage department to ensure timely delivery of tournament meals and beverage-cart service.
  • Answer public-relations questions about golf, course conditions, clubhouse operations, and merchandising, and direct staff during tournament and daily operations.
  • Select, hire, train, schedule, and supervise employees involved in clubhouse operations.
  • Oversee and implement the City of Arlington Golf Volunteer program and maintain timely records.
  • Directly supervise the golf-car fleet, including upkeep, maintenance, workflow, and rotation.
  • Ensure golf cars are clean and fit for rent and that pace of play is maintained.
  • Assist the Head Golf Professional with lessons, tournaments, special events, and tournament operations.
  • Open and close the clubhouse, manage inventory, support instructional programs, and keep the clubhouse and surrounding area clean.
  • Respond to customer needs to provide service and a positive experience.
