Requirements
  • You have a generalist knowledge of decorative interior objects and enjoy working with a broad variety of objects, including lamps, candle sticks, mirrors, tapestries, boxes, bookends and similar items.
  • You know how to judge the age of an object and understand repairs and restorations.
  • You know your materials such as woods, metals, silvers, etc.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can work under pressure.
  • Excellent English communication.
  • Great computer skills.
  • An affinity for numbers and analyzing auction results is a plus.
  • The role can be based in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, or other European countries with a work from home arrangement.
Responsibilities
  • Review lot titles, descriptions, and lot pictures and provide users with an estimated value based on this information.
  • If you need to reject a submission, you do so in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Develop the seller base of the decorative object auctions together with the sales team; proactively review seller segments, assist onboarding high-potential leads, and upsell existing sellers using your network of potential sellers, buyers, and experts.
  • Collaborate with other experts and use your knowledge to evaluate and arrange lots submitted by users and create attractive auctions each week.
  • Review seller segments and work with colleagues to compile auctions.
  • Maintain transparency and fairness in user transactions through your expertise.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of antique religious items; it is a plus.
  • Some documented commercial experience such as price negotiations, setting up commercial seller agreements, actively sourcing new business and leads is preferred but not necessary.
  • Affinity for numbers and analyzing auction results is a plus.
  • Experience developing a network of dealers/buyers is desirable.
