This role will write technical content related to JITX. We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to produce accurate, useful content, and product documentation to increase product clarity and usability. In particular, we are primarily looking for someone who is able to organize and maintain the overall structure of the API documentation, who has experience with writing documentation for software APIs that require communicating with subject experts, and as a bonus, who is experienced enough with software APIs to suggest improvements to function names, improve consistency of APIs and identify missing functionality.
We are looking for a candidate with a background in writing customer-focused documentation for software products. This role requires the following skills and background:
- Communication: Superb communication skills and ability to learn domain-specific software knowledge.
- Reference Documentation: Create meaningful and easily understood reference documentation.
- API Documentation: Adopting clear language, implementation examples, and quickstart guides that include examples of error messages with recommended fixes.
- Pace: Thrive in a fast paced environment, with a writing background in startups and enterprise a plus.
- Education: Computer Science undergraduate degree preferred, but other technical degrees are acceptable. Electrical Engineering degree and circuit board experience are a plus.
In addition to the above skills, the best candidates would have some or all of the following:
- Literate programming: Is comfortable with in code API documentation and publishing libraries like DOxygen.
- Tutorial Creation: Identify ways to stream-line technical onboarding while enhancing user’s understanding and joy of using JITX product.
- Visual Appeal: Employ diagrams, screenshots, drawings, and other visual media of the JITX product.

POST-COVID WORK PLAN
This role will need to be local within the California Bay Area. JITX will continue to be flexible in the Post- Covid Work Plan in our Downtown San Jose or Berkeley office (or combination of both) on a hybrid or full time basis.
