Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY:
The role provides general administrative support for the day-to-day operations.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The incumbent may perform all, some, or similar range of duties.
Written and Verbal Communication
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and willingness to sign a confidentiality statement
- Possess excellent organizational skills and be able to multi-task
Reporting
- Create and maintain list of reports required for health and safety compliance purposes.
- Support external reporting requests as needed.
FINANCIAL AND MATERIAL MANAGEMENT:
- Receipts all donations using software as required
- Authorized to spend, disburse, or collect small amounts of cash
- Manage Service contracts
- Manage inspections i.e. fire alarm and fire extinguishers
- Manage Building Key list
- Coordinate with Janitor to maintain appropriate supply of paper products and cleaning supplies
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- •Working environment is typically in the office (25 Adam's Avenue, St. Johns, NL) in generally agreeable conditions.
- May encounter upset/difficult clientele entering the building.
- Some limited travelling may be required.
- The performance of the job requires frequent data entry, moderate attention when responding to phone inquiries, attention to detail, lifting boxes and a small amount of time setting up displays and packing kits.
Education, Qualifications and Certifications:
- Minimum of one academic year of a related formal post-secondary program.
Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion.
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements
- A minimum of two years of experience in office and clerical fields
- Possess the ability to multi-task
- Possess good computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office Products including Excel,
- Power Point, Publisher, Canva and Word as well as Easy Worship
- Obtain Criminal Police Check and Vulnerable Sector Check and be willing to sign The Salvation Army Code of Conduct Receipt and Acknowledgement Form

- Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility.
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $19.09 to $23.87 with a maximum of $28.64.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
