Job Opportunity – Staff Accountant - Climavision

Climavision is looking for a dynamic, experienced, and driven Staff Accountant who is passionate about the climate and who wants to understand the value of weather data. You will manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting functions, monitor, and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements in accordance with US GAAP. Help establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles. In addition, since we are still in an early-stage startup/scale-up environment, we would like this individual to also help with human resource responsibilities and recruiting. You will work with all levels of the organization to ensure you are well positioned to understand the business and will help the CFO in making key business decisions and help organize recruiting efforts and hire new employees. 

This job operates in a professional hybrid office environment.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Work with the Accounting Manager to ensure daily accounting functions are timely 
• Process vendor invoices
• Reconcile cash transactions
• You’ll be responsible for daily and monthly accounting operations and reporting
• Create journal entries for month end close and reconcile accounts
• Ability to work with customers, vendors, third party accounting resources to ensure timely receipts, vendor payment and are compliant in many areas

The ideal candidate will be a team player who enjoys interacting with people. Additionally, you must:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Accounting/Finance function
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field; CPA/MBA a plus
• Be energetic, eager to learn and can self-motivate
• Experience working closely across departments to ensure proper coding of vendor invoices
• Be entrepreneurial, driven by business performance and motivated by growth - you love looking for and pursuing new ideas and organize thoughts around ensuring efficiency of business functions
• Demonstrate outstanding judgment in resource optimization
• Be passionate about helping a growing business and have a genuine interest in developing and growing yourself
• Have an intellectual curiosity and aptitude toward the growing fields of data and data analytics and how these tools help us solve business critical issues
• Show effective organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage your own workload effectively
