Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One to three years of experience in a similar position is required.
  • Specialized training in catering is required.
  • Leadership, team orientation, communication proficiency, customer/client focus, the ability to work under pressure, and scheduling skills are required.
  • The role requires the ability to operate kitchen and standard office equipment, follow written and oral instructions and procedures, and meet physical demands including standing for long periods, manual dexterity, and sitting, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting items weighing 40 pounds or less.
  • ServSafe Certification, Choke Safety Certification, and Allergen Awareness Certification are required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight of daily dining services to ensure client and customer satisfaction.
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for conformance with established standards and arrange for equipment purchases or repairs.
  • Build and maintain a working schedule covering more than two weeks, with at least three weeks posted.
  • Purchase food and other supplies as needed, ensure quality-control practices for receiving products, and maintain vendor relationships when assigned.
  • Assist with determining staffing requirements and scheduling to ensure timely service delivery.
  • Maintain company standards for safety, food handling, sanitation, uniforms, and productivity.
  • Assist with event menu writing and cycle-of-cost control using appropriate recipes and costing measures with the Chef Manager or Chef.
  • Assist with food production.
  • Assist with planning, execution, and coordination of events according to client standards with the Chef Manager or Chef.
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down catering events, including seating arrangements, decorations, and food displays, and supervise staff during event execution.
  • Meet with prospective clients when assigned to review event requirements, menu creation, setup and breakdown requirements, and scheduling.
  • Adhere to budgetary guidelines determined by the Chef Manager or Chef.
  • Record production and operational data, and compile and maintain records of food use and expenditures.
  • Assist with financial recordkeeping for all aspects of operations.
  • Assist with inventory management when assigned.
  • Instruct, train, and supervise cooks, servers, and utility workers in food preparation, cooking, garnishing, presentation, and service.
  • Provide attentive and approachable customer service, including greeting and thanking customers.
  • Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities.
Desired Qualifications
  • A culinary school certificate or degree is preferred.
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience is preferred.
