Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in information systems security and delivering to a large enterprise within the defense industrial base (DIB)
  • 2+ years of experience in a security engineering or in an architect role
  • Experience working with deployable security tools and suites, such as Nessus, Splunk, Prisma, ServiceNow ITOM. Carbon Black, CSPM, and others
  • Knowledge of security operations concepts, including techniques for continuous monitoring, detective and preventative measures, patch and vulnerability management, and change management processes for physical and virtualized networks
  • Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, 171, and 172 control families and platform-specific capabilities to meet control requirements
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • DoD 8140 CWQP intermediate level security engineering Certification
Responsibilities
  • Spearhead security efforts and maintain responsibility for working with the team to assist in developing, implementing, and leading security measures to protect projects and infrastructure
  • Guide and develop a team dedicated to security best practices and risk assessments, mitigation for the sector
  • Lead the integration of security practices across the DevSecOps life cycle, including planning, design, implementation, testing, and deployment
  • Design and develop secure infrastructure solutions using Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure while optimizing for scalability, efficiency, and compliance
  • Ensure that all systems and procedures adhere to industry best practices and governmental regulations for security
  • Guide the process of certification and accreditation for systems as required by government contracts and standards
  • Drive the development and implementation of security architectures for the protection of sensitive data and systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate security considerations in the early stages of project development
  • Conduct security assessments and audits, provide recommendations, and oversee the implementation of security controls
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on security and advising on the latest threats, trends, and technologies
  • Mentor and develop a team of security professionals, setting clear objectives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
