Spearhead security efforts and maintain responsibility for working with the team to assist in developing, implementing, and leading security measures to protect projects and infrastructure, while also guiding and developing a team dedicated to security best practices and risk assessments, mitigation for the sector. Lead the integration of security practices across the DevSecOps life cycle, including planning, design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Design and develop secure infrastructure solutions using Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure while optimizing for scalability, efficiency, and compliance, ensuring that all systems and procedures adhere to industry best practices and governmental regulations for security. Guide the process of certification and accreditation for systems as required by government contracts and standards. Drive the development and implementation of security architectures for the protection of sensitive data and systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate security considerations in the early stages of project development, conduct security assessments and audits, provide recommendations, and oversee the implementation of security controls. Serve as a subject matter expert on security and advising on the latest threats, trends, and technologies while mentoring and developing a team of security professionals, setting clear objectives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in information systems security and delivering to a large enterprise within the defense industrial base (DIB)

• 2+ years of experience in a security engineering or in an architect role

• Experience working with deployable security tools and suites, such as Nessus, Splunk, Prisma, ServiceNow ITOM. Carbon Black, CSPM, and others

• Knowledge of security operations concepts, including techniques for continuous monitoring, detective and preventative measures, patch and vulnerability management, and change management processes for physical and virtualized networks

• Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, 171, and 172 control families and platform-specific capabilities to meet control requirements

• Secret clearance

• HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience delivering security services for the DoD

• Experience with government compliance, certification, and accreditation processes, including frameworks, such as FedRAMP, NIST, and deploying DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) pursuant to achieving a DoD Authorization to Operate (ATO) or DoD Impact Level designation

• Experience leading security initiatives and teams in complex project environments

• Ability to apply secure system development life cycle and cyber resiliency concepts found NIST SP 800-160 Volumes 1 and 2

• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Possession of excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

• DoD 8140 CWQP intermediate level security engineering Certification
