Requirements
  • Proven experience with CAT5e, fiber optics, and networking.
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code, Telecommunications Industry Association/Electronic Industries Alliance, and Building Industry Consulting Service International standards.
  • Ability to read blueprints and site maps.
  • Reliable transportation and basic telecommunications tools and personal protective equipment.
  • Availability for extensive travel of 6–8 weeks at a time.
  • Willingness to work on-call, early mornings, nights, and weekends as project requirements shift.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean record and no driving under the influence or driving while intoxicated conviction within the last three years.
Responsibilities
  • Install structured cabling, including CAT5e and fiber optic cable, with neat bundling that complies with safety regulations.
  • Operate boom and scissor lifts to access tight areas and elevated work areas.
  • Participate in on-the-job training for closed-circuit television, Internet Protocol video, physical access control, and wireless local area network infrastructure.
  • Work with multiple trades to meet project timelines and scopes.
  • Follow company, customer, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration safety standards.
  • Perform precision boom-lift maneuvering and voluntary climbing of vertical steel structures.
Desired Qualifications
  • Conduit installation experience.
  • Certifications such as Systimax, Panduit, or Corning.
  • Climbing school, certification, and climbing gear experience.
