Requirements
  • Have or obtain a Washington State registered nurse license to practice.
  • Have two or more years of current or recent experience in nursing care of breastfeeding families.
  • Hold International Board Certified Lactation Consultant certification.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and/or support a caseload of patients across the perinatal and breastfeeding continuum, including assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Provide lactation services to patients on an as-needed basis and work with other care providers to triage needs.
  • Provide direct care to lactating patients as needed.
  • Be available to provide an immediate resource to patients.
  • Consult with perinatal staff to assist with lactation support for their patients.
