About the Position

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to help our global team with managing the administration and coordination of payroll across EMEA, with a focus on our offices in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Over time, the scope of this role might expand into other jurisdictions.

You will be responsible for:

• Overseeing the timely preparation and accurate processing of UK and NL payrolls
• Ensuring updates to payroll records, compensation changes and month-end, quarterly and annual processes are completed properly
• Supporting and mentoring team members through coaching and development, workflow management and urgent issue resolution
• Partnering with our internal Human Resources and Corporate Tax teams on payroll-related compliance and key initiatives
• Providing friendly and timely customer service to Jane Street employees
• Reviewing payroll reports, reconciliations and submissions (e.g., P60, PSA, Short Term Business Visitor)
• Maintaining payroll and internal control procedures and associated documentation
• Staying updated on best practices and current payroll laws and regulations
• Recommending ways to improve and automate our payroll processes

About You

• 10+ years of UK and international payroll experience with 3+ years of team management 
• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or a related field
• Excellent people and communication skills
• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
• Mature, professional and trustworthy; able to handle sensitive information with excellent judgment and discretion 
• Can work independently and proactively with strong analytical skills
• Manages competing priorities and works effectively in a challenging, fast-paced environment
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Experience working with Workday HR and Payroll, and with expat payroll is a plus
• Fluency in English required
