Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, or a related field is required, although four years of directly related work experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree.
  • At least two years of healthcare experience, including one year in a lead or supervisory role, is required; alternatively, a master's degree in a healthcare, business, or related field and successful completion of the FMCOH Residency Program may qualify.
  • Effective working knowledge of healthcare financial management, operations, and strategy is required.
  • The role requires compliance with organizational policies and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and other applicable standards is required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage operations across multiple clinical office locations and departments, ensuring quality of care, patient access, fiscal responsibility, resource allocation, labor management, process improvement, and quality assurance.
  • Maintain accountability for annual budgets up to $35 million, manage 3 to 15 office locations, and oversee staffing of up to 100 full-time equivalents.
  • Develop short- and long-term strategic goals with physician and administrative leadership, focusing on patient care, process efficiency, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with leadership on interdepartmental and intradepartmental services and projects.
  • Meet productivity targets through resource adjustment and workload monitoring.
  • Oversee patient-care flow and redirect or allocate resources as necessary.
  • Determine the space, equipment, supplies, and support systems needed for effective department and clinical-site operations.
  • Investigate patient and visitor concerns and implement appropriate actions, including interpreting and administering policies.
  • Ensure safety, health, and regulatory standards are met within assigned departments.
  • Implement new work routines and operational changes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and quality.
  • Address software, hardware, and telephone issues, and encourage adoption of IT solutions such as Dragon and AI Freed.
  • Participate in performance-improvement initiatives directed by administration or physician leadership.
  • Support team members in completing their assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Develop effective teams by motivating staff and building on individual strengths.
  • Create an environment that encourages innovation, idea generation, and creativity.
  • Ensure adequate staff and resources are available to meet departmental needs.
  • Communicate relevant information to administration and team members in a timely manner.
  • Attend and prepare agendas for staff, operations, service-line, subcommittee, and value-based performance meetings.
  • Facilitate information flow among providers, management, and staff.
  • Handle and resolve escalated patient complaints and correspondence with hospitals, nursing homes, surgery centers, and answering services.
  • Complete annual self-evaluations for supervisors and managers and assist supervisors with evaluations of their staff.
  • Coach, direct, and counsel supervisors and staff.
  • Review and investigate employee issues before reprimands or staffing changes in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Monitor payroll for supervisors and staff.
  • Coordinate staffing needs and schedules, including paid-time-off requests and staffing shortages.
  • Interview candidates for open positions, extend offers as approved by administration, complete new-hire and termination processes, and interview for supervisory openings.
  • Monitor budget performance, address negative variances, and collaborate with directors to develop, implement, and monitor practice budgets.
  • Analyze financial reports and provider receipts or work relative value unit reports against financial goals.
  • Approve invoices and manage direct expenses for assigned departments.
  • Address facility issues, create maintenance work tickets, and ensure assigned offices are clean, well maintained, and safe.
  • Identify and eliminate safety hazards and report incidents, accidents, and injuries to administration.
  • Set up new provider offices and locations and oversee practice mergers.
  • Provide on-site support for electronic health record go-lives and continuing support.
  • Coordinate new-provider photography and profile information with Marketing.
  • Arrange division meetings with Administration.
  • Represent the organization through community relations and marketing activities.
  • Lead and support key committees and represent the service line in overall operations.
  • Participate in planning and designing information systems and standard service-line reports.
  • Recommend and oversee implementation of administrative policies and operating procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to governmental regulations and complete mandatory organizational education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute has opened a new 31,000-square-foot facility at Orlando Health Institute Square in St. Petersburg, expanding cancer care access in Pinellas County.
