Requirements
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in architecture or an equivalent related field is required.
  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Revit is required, and educational experience may be included.
  • The ability to perform duties with minimal oversight is required.
  • Knowledge of building codes and requirements is required.
  • Fluency in English, including strong reading, speaking, and writing skills, is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, is required.
  • Candidates must demonstrate attention to detail, organizational abilities, responsibility, and the ability to work collaboratively.
Responsibilities
  • Discuss building and zoning code issues involving gray areas with the project team as directed by the supervisor.
  • Develop and participate in presentations for the design team and related project stakeholders.
  • Produce high-quality construction documents using Revit and building information modeling systems, and explore additional system capabilities applicable to current work.
  • Control access to original drawings and architectural files to ensure authorized personnel can access them easily.
  • Prepare construction drawings based on approved site plans and floor plans, in accordance with project schedules and applicable codes.
  • Coordinate preliminary site plans with a senior architect using owner-provided criteria, including topography, surveys, easement setbacks, dedications, legal descriptions, and local jurisdiction development standards.
  • Review grading and drainage plans for compliance with established design requirements and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in weekly requests for information and design coordination meetings.
  • Support projects while developing an understanding of company standards and procedures.
  • Assist with site observations during construction.
  • Help prepare reports documenting conformance with contract documents and perform related construction-process tasks with the architect of record.
  • Provide weekly reports to the supervisor.
  • Coordinate and respond to architectural issues, including requests for information, submittals, and change orders, in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with outside consultants, including local architects, building departments, fire departments, engineers, and surveyors, as directed by the supervisor.
  • Serve as the design contact for outside consultants as directed by the supervisor.
  • Monitor work performed by outside consultants to ensure timely completion.
  • Comply with Americans with Disabilities Act requirements and work with the Technical Director and senior-level architects to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with quality-control plan reviews.
  • Review consultants' drawings for accuracy before distribution or submission to permitting and approval authorities.
  • Follow company design policies and procedures.
  • Promote teamwork with coworkers, outside consultants, and other entities to achieve timely completion of project work.
  • Represent the company professionally and maintain current schedules and priorities to ensure timely completion of department and emergency work.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 4 years of multifamily design experience is preferred.
  • Strong creative capabilities and the ability to contribute ideas and design details based on prior experience and current research are preferred.
