Requirements
  • Strong ability to present and explain complex ideas clearly to non-technical colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply design patterns for creating modular and efficient software, with the ability to teach others how to solve architectural problems.
  • Extensive experience with Python, including developing applications and complex data processing tasks. Familiarity with Django or Flask.
  • Advanced experience with PostgreSQL, including query optimization, joins, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Practical experience with Linux, Bash scripting, Docker containers, and AWS services (EC2, RDS, CloudFront).
  • A minimum of five years of full-time professional experience as a backend software engineer.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent training in the principles of software engineering.
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to major feature planning and development independently and collaboratively.
  • Implement new features on core platforms, Jebena and Sini.
  • Maintenance and enhancements of existing code, triaging and resolving incoming issues.
  • Manage AWS services, review CI/CD setup, propose automation and security enhancements.
  • Collaborate with product managers, work with non-Engineering teams, and develop features from specs.

Enveritas provides sustainability assurance for the coffee and cocoa industries by assessing smallholder farms worldwide. The company visits over 60,000 farms annually in more than 25 countries to evaluate their social, economic, and environmental practices. This hands-on approach allows even the smallest farms to meet sustainability standards without any fees. Enveritas serves coffee roasters and chocolate companies, helping them understand sustainability issues in their supply chains.
