- At least 8 years of experience developing, scaling, and operating complex full-stack web applications in production environments, preferably in e-commerce or SaaS.
- Expert knowledge of PHP 8.x and Laravel, including middleware, queues, events, gates, and policies, combined with substantial frontend development experience.
- Advanced frontend development experience with Vue.js 3, TypeScript, and modern state management such as Pinia is desirable.
- Strong architecture expertise in designing secure, multi-tenant, and distributed systems, with a strong understanding of SOLID and DRY principles and maintainability.
- Advanced knowledge of database and performance engineering, including MySQL/RDS, complex schema design, indexing strategies, and Redis caching in high-traffic environments.
- Demonstrated responsibility in a DevOps-related environment, including Docker-based environments, CI/CD pipelines, semantic versioning, AWS infrastructure, and production monitoring and alerting.
- Strong technical leadership abilities, including mentoring senior engineers, conducting high-quality code reviews, structuring complex problems, and translating technical decisions into business value.
- Practical experience with AI-assisted and agentic coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor, including understanding where they provide value and where they do not.
- Continual evaluation of current AI tools, models, and methodologies to measurably improve developer productivity and code quality.
- Own the end-to-end architecture of modular add-ons across backend, frontend, and integrations while ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Design and implement complex backend logic using Laravel, queues, and events, as well as optimized database schemas for high-traffic e-commerce environments.
- Direct frontend integration within a micro-frontend setup using SingleSpa to ensure seamless performance and consistent user experience.
- Own CI/CD, semantic versioning, Docker-based environments, and release processes, including stable rollouts.
- Ensure reliable live operations through monitoring, alerting, and proactive incident management using tools such as DataDog and AWS environments.
- Serve as the technical lead and final reviewer by mentoring engineers, enforcing high code-quality standards, and ensuring consistent architecture.
- Promote AI-assisted and agentic coding workflows within the team and define best practices, guardrails, and quality standards for production development.

Germany's financial regulator BaFin has launched a formal audit of Zalando's 2025 consolidated accounts over possible omissions related to the About You acquisition. The examination, which began on 19 June, will investigate whether information about a transaction involving a related entity was improperly excluded from the group's financial statement notes. BaFin stressed that opening the audit does not confirm any error or suggest inaccuracies are likely. The regulator is legally required to review cases where concrete indications of accounting irregularities exist and make such reviews public. Zalando called the matter "purely formal and materially immaterial", noting all relevant acquisition information was already publicly available through the takeover offer. The audit follows strong fiscal 2025 results, with revenue rising 16.8% to €12.3 billion.
