Requirements
  • Direct experience with RGP practices, procedures, and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Thorough knowledge of the field of records and information governance and preservation

  • Minimum of 5 years of managerial and supervisory experience
  • Strong computer skills with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Minimum 15 years records management experience, with direct experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to travel as needed to support quality and inspection activities
  • B.S/B.A degree in Business, Library/Information Science, or related field, or related experience and/or training
Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and critical input into the strategic direction of the global Records Governance and Preservation program, determining scope, goals, and objectives, identifying risks, and establishing support from key stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Manage the overall RGP strategy keeping abreast of legal and regulatory requirements, technology capabilities, and changing company needs. Keep senior management and functional teams apprised of updates and changes in RGP regulatory developments affecting the pharmaceutical industry
  • Implement strategic goals and objectives for managing and maintaining integrated, cost-effective records systems and processes, inclusive of reports and metrics to gauge success
  • Implement an effective procedural framework and processes for information and record management
  • Support functional teams in ensuring records and information are controlled and managed in a compliant manner throughout their lifecycle, inclusive of storage and preservation (archiving)
  • Collaborate with the head of each functional team to ensure indexing, controls, retrieval, and storage of documents, data, and information meet the operational needs of the business
  • Ensure sensitive and protected information is handled and stored appropriately
  • Direct the schedule for retention and destruction of both paper and electronic documents in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with functional teams to develop a communication strategy to ensure awareness and integration of compliant RGP practices
  • Develop and implement programs and training modules to ensure that all personnel are aware of and appropriately trained
  • Develop strategies to raise awareness of the RGP function as a key business resource, establishing credibility with key stakeholders and senior managers
  • Partner with Information Technology (IT) to identify and implement technology solutions and methods to manage records and information, including long term preservation (e.g., digital archival) that are consistent with Cerevel policy, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
  • Oversee RGP systems, tools, and technologies to promote process efficiency for the end user and operational excellence. Drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Partner with the Legal Department to ensure information and record lifecycle management is consistent with Legal Hold requirements
  • Partner with Compliance and the Legal Department on issues related to ethics, compliance, privacy, HR, and legal issues related to records and information governance
  • Manage RGP staff and establish a network of liaisons/champions within the functional areas
  • Manage vendor relationships and services for off-site storage vendors
  • Represent Cerevel in external industry groups, forums, conferences, and/or professional associations related to RGP
  • Lead and/or participate in projects and/or departmental initiatives or other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • One or more industry related designations and/or certifications such as Certified Records Manager (CRM), AIIM ERM and ECM specialist/Practitioner, AIIM Certified Information Professional (CIP), ARMA Information Governance Professional (IGP)
