Compensation Overview

Ribbon Health is looking for a Data Scientist to work with our Product and Engineering teams to implement machine learning models and business logic to improve our healthcare provider directory data.

To help us achieve our mission, we are looking to hire a Data Scientist who is great at working with data at scale and seeks to enable people to access affordable and high-quality care that is right for them.  This is a full time role based in New York City and will report to our Staff Data Scientist 

As a key member of our Engineering organization, here’s what you’ll do:

Key Outcomes:

• Collaborate with Product and internal stakeholders to improve the accuracy of our directory 
• Build, retrain and launch new models into production: you will work with the engineering team to design, build, and launch models and code to improve our data
• Work with Product to ingest new data sets and augment our existing data
• Build data infrastructure and work closely with data pipelines: you will develop infrastructure to support our ETL, analytics, and modeling workflows

The most important skills for the role are*:

• Proficiency with Python and SQL and have experience working with data at scale (Spark is a plus)
• Comfort owning ML workflows, such as automating the training of a predictive model, the deployment of that model at scale, etc.
• Experience designing, building, and/or managing scalable systems in the cloud (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Ability to break business problems down into testable data problems

In addition to the above, it would be great if you also had: 

• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment dealing with ambiguity
• Experience working with healthcare data

Compensation: 

We’re committed to an inclusive, consistent, and equitable approach to compensation and anticipate that this position will earn between $145,000 - $182,000 annually. The exact salary will depend on the amount of relevant and transferable experience you bring to the role. You will also receive meaningful equity in the form of a stock option grant.
