Requirements
  • Minimum three years of multifamily apartment janitorial experience.
  • Knowledge of proper disposal of hazardous materials, electronic waste, recycling practices, and water conservation.
  • Skill in using and caring for common hand and power tools used in janitorial maintenance work.
  • Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 30 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Pick up trash and litter around grounds and buildings.
  • Gather and empty trash, including moving dumpsters for city trash pickup.
  • Keep recycling areas, trash rooms, and dumpster areas neat, clean, and litter-free.
  • Maintain neat, clean, and organized maintenance shop and storage areas.
  • Keep utility and meter rooms free of dirt, debris, and litter.
  • Clean common-area floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
  • Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
  • Service, clean, and supply common-area restrooms.
  • Use and store cleaning products in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
  • Perform initial cleanup and final detailed cleaning of apartment unit turnovers, including refrigerators and range/ovens; exhaust fans and filters; counters, countertops and cabinets; sinks, vanities, tubs and showers; walls, hard-surface floors and carpets; doors and windows; and utility closets.
  • Perform miscellaneous janitorial maintenance-related tasks and other duties as directed by the Property Manager.
