State Street seeks to recruit a Managing Director to lead the Global Technology Services (GTS) First Line Risk and Controls Audit Facilitation and Issues Governance functions. This highly visible role focus on enhancing and leading our audit facilitation program, driving engagement among GTS stakeholders and Corporate Audit on technology-related audits and also for enhancing and leading our Technology Issues Governance function, driving compliance with the global issues management standard and providing transparency, awareness and escalations to GTS Executive Management and governing committees. This role is expected to deliver exceptional client service and maintain all related activities in an organized and consistent manner. As such, the proven ability to communicate effectively, think strategically, but ensure timely action, execution, and ownership are essential.
What you will be responsible for
As Managing Director of GTS FLRC Audit Facilitation and Issues Governance you will:
- Oversee and enhance execution of audit coordination of all IT related audits, supporting the auditees with any necessary pre-audit preparation and training, ongoing engagement during audit fieldwork, and engagement throughout the audit closure and report issuance
- Provide GTS Executive Management with line of sight into ongoing and upcoming technology-related audits, ensuring appropriate awareness and engagement throughout the lifecycle of each audit
- Collaborate with stakeholders to validate issues identified by Corporate Audit and to draft Management Actions (remediation responses) for all valid issues
- Govern Global Technology Issues ensuring adherence to the Global Issues Management Standard and promoting a culture of accountability and ownership related to remediation of issues
- Facilitate Issues Oversight Forum (IOF) meetings, chaired by the CIO, to improve visibility and awareness into ongoing remediation of Issues, promote accountability and improve timely closure of issues
- Provide clear Issues-related reporting to key stakeholders, including GTS Executive Management and various boards and committees, including but not limited to, the Technology Risk Committee, the Issues Oversight Forum, the Cyber Risk Committee and the Identity and Access Management Council
- Consult with GTS strategic initiative owners and Policy and Standards owners regarding best practices for new issue creation mandates
- Participate in enterprise Issues Management Steering Committee and associated working groups to represent and advocate for GTS interests and requirements with regard to the Issues Management Standard and the implementation of the Issues Management module in the Archer Governance Risk and Compliance platform
- Represent GTS at various State Street Legal Entity Board Meetings to provide updates on remediation progress related to key open issues
- Demonstrate strong communication and relationship building skills in interactions stakeholders across the organization including executive management, enterprise risk, and internal audit
- Build and maintain a global staff with required expertise and skills to effectively facilitate audit-related activities and issues governance in line with professional standards, industry practices and regulatory expectations
- Demonstrate a risk excellence tone at the top and manage talent development
- Develop a strong understanding and subject matter expertise in State Street business and system processes.
- Deliver clear and meaningful reports, presentations, and other materials for Executive Management and Governance Committees and Boards.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience in financial services industry with IT risk, audit or technology operations knowledge/experience
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, program management skills, and a commitment to ensuring timely and accurate stakeholder communications
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, negotiation, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Client service skills -must demonstrate the judgment and ability to closely partner with and advise business and technology leaders (and other stakeholders) on audit and issues-related matters
- Ability to learn new products, services, businesses while supporting them
- Ability to develop a mentoring, inclusive culture for both experienced team members and junior staff
- Strong analytical skills, solid judgment, and the ability to evaluate complex business issues
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams involving different partners and groups.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, including by demonstrating excellent time management and planning skills
- A relationship builder with the ability to establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with business and functional partners at the firm

Salary Range:
$175,000 - $287,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
