  • Able to maintain a balance between your individual growth and being vested in the advancement of the People and Culture team
  • You are comfortable and confident saying what needs to be said in a professional, constructive and non-disruptive way; you can handle political dynamics in an organization and remain focused on your expected outcomes
  • Better than average written, verbal and presentations skills; able to create clarity and understanding in complex, ambiguous situations
  • Experience working with Google applications is a must
  • Willing to be in the NYC office of Schmidt Futures three (3) days a week. Able to travel as needed following company policy and permitting circumstances
Responsibilities
  • Co-creating and implementing a talent plan with the team leaders to align with the organization's plan
  • Working with the specialist practice areas such as compensation and benefits, recruiting, and HR administration, to create a comprehensive plan to meet all the HR needs of their assigned groups within Schmidt Futures
  • Staying current on advancing and progressive practices within the HR discipline
  • Gain in-depth knowledge about who your assigned group is, their history, and how they create value to the organization
  • Deliver expertise in organizational design and development along with how to assess talent and help leaders build effective teams by building a diverse combination of cultural backgrounds, lived experiences, skills, knowledge, and talents
  • Build strong, non-competitive relationships with the other areas of the People and Culture team. We are seeking someone who understands that the HR brand is a collective view of People and Culture, and the team's success is as important as individual success
  • Keep pace with progressive People and Culture practices and processes, and share how they can increase value for the greater organization
  • Handle employee relations with skill and apply sound judgment when looking below the surface of an issue for an effective way forward. Yet isn't afraid to make a tough decision
  • Lead special project work beyond day to day responsibilities and identify and support opportunities for management and employee development and growth
