Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on maintenance or related experience is required.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and housekeeping practices and procedures, including the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing maintenance functions in the community, is required.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft Office, including Windows, Outlook, and Excel, with the ability to learn new applications, is required.
  • The associate must be able to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell.
  • The associate must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and use proper body mechanics, including when lifting and supporting residents.
Responsibilities
  • Interact and engage with residents respectfully and confidentially.
  • Respond to maintenance service requests from residents and staff, perform the required work, or advise the supervisor when additional resources are needed.
  • Perform general maintenance work, including light electrical work, painting, and carpentry.
  • Continuously monitor all areas of the building, grounds, and equipment to ensure they are properly maintained.
  • Perform routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep tasks throughout the community.
  • Properly handle, store, and maintain potentially dangerous chemicals and equipment, and maintain required documentation and Safety Data Sheet logs in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of the Emergency Preparedness Plan.
  • Assist the Maintenance Director with monthly emergency drills.
  • Assist with evacuating residents during emergencies.
  • Participate in and attend all scheduled in-service training.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as community policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
