Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of vocational nursing is required.
  • A current license to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in Texas is required.
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification is required.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records is required.
  • Knowledge and compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and Medical Center requirements, including The Joint Commission, the Texas Department of State Health Services, the Health Resources and Services Administration, and PCHM compliance standards are required.
  • Ability to provide age-appropriate care and demonstrate knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan is required.
  • Ability to identify and categorize patient needs by age-specific group, including infant, adolescent, and geriatric patients, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and provide nursing care under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Nursing Coordinator and Assistant Clinical Coordinator and in collaboration with the Provider or Mid-Level Provider.
  • Carry out duties necessary for the smooth operation of the assigned unit in accordance with approved competency assessment guidelines.
  • Assist with health education and disease prevention services as needed or required.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least two years of nursing experience in various specialties is preferred.
  • One to two years of supervisory responsibilities is preferred.
  • Prior experience in patient education, including diabetes, hypertension, cardiac, and other health-related education programs, is preferred.
