  • Education: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS)
  • Experience: 2 years
  • Occupational instructors must have a minimum of two years (4,000 hours) full-time or equivalent demonstrated relevant occupational experience, one of which must be within the last five years
  • May waive the occupational experience of one year within the last five years if the candidate has two years post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the last five years
  • Upon employment and throughout employment, must meet and continue to meet the Wisconsin Technical College System requirements, Higher Learning Commissions requirements, accreditation standards, and/or licensing standards, where applicable
  • Experience in teaching and working with diverse populations preferred
  • Candidates must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a license to practice dentistry in the state of Wisconsin, in accordance with the Wisconsin Dentistry Examining Board requirements. Licensure must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
  • Must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and ability to meet Northcentral Technical College’s insurance carrier standards
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret complex documents; present topics to internal and external individuals of all levels
  • Math Skills: Ability to perform and work complex calculations, make comparisons, interpret and provide logical explanations to others
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions to critically create resolutions; interpret instructions in mathematical or diagram form with abstract and concrete variables
  • Technical Skills: Ability to perform complex operations in a variety of job-specific systems, understand functionality to apply advanced functions, manage and create calculations with data
  • Customer Service Skills: Ability to understand complex concerns and formulate solutions; communicate professionally with various audiences in different situations

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate learning through classroom activities, distance learning experiences, out-of-classroom activities, and the mentoring of students and peers
  • Assess and evaluate student performance in alignment with the College assessment plan in a timely manner
  • Conduct assigned classes for the scheduled length of time
  • Maintain accurate student records, including grades, attendance, and clinical evaluations, and ensure compliance with relevant privacy laws
  • Furnish written evaluations as requested by students
  • Maintain course outcome summaries, learning plans, Performance Assessment Tasks (PATs), syllabi, and online Learning Management System template in the approved College format and time parameter
  • Actively select and use appropriate learning materials and resources including textbooks, library resources, equipment, and supplies to enhance learning
  • Assist in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating a new or modified course/certificate/program. Stay current and focused on learner needs
  • Keep professionally up-to-date in area of content expertise and in the teaching profession
  • Actively support diverse learners
  • Maintain professional certifications, licensures, and requirements
  • Maintain documentation as required by accreditation, program, or clinical sites
  • Assist, participate, support, and carry out the duties as assigned
  • Submit final grades by the scheduled due date identified on the academic calendar
  • Post and maintain office hours
  • Coordinate instructional support services to meet individual student accommodation and modification needs
  • Utilize and engage in professional day activities and team time as designated
  • Participate in institutional, advisory and program team and committee meetings
  • Attend the College’s in-service sessions, commencements, and other activities as directed
  • Assist in student recruitment and Student Services activities
  • Attend College Open Houses (on-campus and off-campus, set-up and take down) to assist with student recruitment
