ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sparksoft is seeking a Sr.Drupal developer to be part of our team supporting a multi-year CMS contract. The Drupal Developer will work under the supervision of the Development Manager, and he/she will be a key member of a scrum team working in an Agile Safe and Dev SecOps culture.
The project involves replacing HCL Web Content Manager (WCM) and HCL Connections with a modern, accessible, and scalable Drupal 11-based platform hosted in AWS (ECS Fargate).
The ideal candidate will have full-stack expertise, including backend architecture, front end theming, accessibility, and CI/CD integration. The developer will work in an Agile team alongside DevOps, QA, and business stakeholders to deliver a secure, performant, and intuitive user experience across multiple web applications.
- Build and optimize scalable backend functionality in Drupal 11.
- Implement Group module-based access control using roles from F5 APM headers.
- Design and expose content via RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
- Migrate content from HCL WCM and Connections via custom ETL workflows.
- Integrate Amazon S3 for secure document storage using Drupal Media entities.
- Support multi-site architecture and dynamic content structures.
- Contribute to Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and automated deployment.
- Build responsive, accessible Drupal UIs using Twig, SCSS, and Layout Builder.
- Customize UI/UX for group-based collaboration and dynamic content templates.
- Ensure compliance with Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
- Leverage Drupal Views, Menus, Media Library, and field UI for content structuring.
- Collaborate with UX designers and consume design mockups from tools like Figma.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and cross-functional collaboration.
- Assist with UAT, integrate business feedback, and mentor junior developers.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 7+ years of experience in Drupal backend development, including entity/field APIs and routing.
- 5+ years of Drupal frontend development: Twig, SCSS, Layout Builder, custom theming.
- Minimum 2 projects on Drupal 9 or 10.
- Experience with Drupal Group module, Media entities, and configuration management (e.g., Config Split).
- Strong understanding of OAuth-based SSO, role mapping, and F5 header integration.
- Integration experience with AWS services: S3, ECS, CloudFront, Secrets Manager.
- Proficiency in Composer, Drush, Git, and Jenkins pipelines.
- Demonstrated ability to meet 508/WCAG accessibility standards.
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies.
- Familiarity with Figma or other UX design handoff tools.
- Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Candidates must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Developer Associate or Solutions Architect).
- Acquia Certified Drupal Developer (or equivalent).
- Experience with FedRAMP, NIST 800-53 compliance requirements.
- Background modernizing legacy systems like WebSphere Portal, WCM, or Connections.
- Prior experience working on Federal Government projects or CMS contracts.
- Experience with JEE platform, Node.js, JavaScript, PHP, AWS Serverless architecture
- Experience with Microservice development, Java, Angular, React, Typescript, Web Content Accessibility/USDS, UX, HTML5, CSS5
- Experience working with various databases including Oracle, MySQL, DynamoDB and Aurora DB.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Excellent problem-solving, mentoring, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to translate stakeholder requirements into scalable, user-friendly solutions.
- Strong attention to visual consistency, accessibility, and usability.
