  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent minimum experience of six years in a personnel or finance department involving leave and benefit payment processing and employee relations.
  • Experience administering Delaware Paid Leave.
  • Ability to handle personal information with sensitivity and maintain necessary confidentiality.
  • Ability to work accurately, meet deadlines, and follow logical, process-oriented procedures.
  • Organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Communication skills for interacting with employees, including employees in crisis.
  • Prior experience with UKG Pro, or experience administering benefits in another fully integrated human resources information system environment.
  • Willingness to work in the office rather than virtually.
  • Working knowledge of word processing systems.
  • Proof of completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of Pennsylvania Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment, with recurrent training every five years.
  • Required Pennsylvania child protection clearances, including the Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Record Check.
  • Understanding of and support for The Salvation Army's mission.
Responsibilities
  • Administer Family and Medical Leave Act and Americans with Disabilities Act leave requirements.
  • Explain leave administration to employees anticipating leave, including documentation and notice requirements, and ensure employees understand their responsibilities.
  • Review all leaves with the General Secretary for approval.
  • Complete disability insurance claims with Chesterfield Insurance Company using UKG Pro earnings statement data and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws.
  • Review accommodation requests with the General Secretary in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with Payroll and the Security and Compliance Attorney on Delaware Paid Leave administration.
  • Ensure employee contributions are made while employees are on approved leave.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate employee contributions received during leave to Payroll so arrears can be modified.
  • Keep location directors, department heads, and supervisors informed of leave status and return-to-work dates.
  • Provide incident forms and retain completed incident reports for employee accidents and injuries.
  • Ensure required workers' compensation plan-information mailings and legally required postings are completed.
  • Process workers' compensation claims with Chesterfield Insurance Company using UKG Pro earnings statement data and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws.
  • Participate in human resources administration training for newly arriving officers and periodic human resources supervisory training for managers and directors.
  • Serve as backup to the Benefits Specialist and support other human resources staff as needed.
  • Assist with workplace investigations when requested.
  • Perform related assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least three years of leave administration experience.
  • Prior UKG Pro experience, although experience administering benefits in another fully integrated human resources information system environment may be substituted.
